Long time ACT user, I upgraded to Pro 2011 from a very old version and have been very disappointed. Although it has nice features It is the slowest software I have used in quite sometime particularly when setting up and updating activities. Was hoping someone may have a solution. Based on conversations it seems that this is not an uncommon problem.
By very old version of the ACT! program I assume that you mean ACT! 6 or before. You also didn't indicate your system specifications, particularily RAM and hard drive speed in RPM. ACT! 2005 did have performance issues but the latest version, except for initial program load, should equal or beat ACT! 6 for most operations.
