Quick question, employees were constantly not filling out the address fields, so I made the address fields
mandatory which I thought would solve the problem but now I have discovered that they are creating new contacts
through Outlook & Act isnt making the address field mandatory, how or can I fix this?????

The only way you can achieve filling the fields is making those fields mandatory in Outlook, there is not yet a standard way, out of the box, to realize that (for instance when synchronising or importing) in Act! v16.

We've approached it from a user training perspective and encourage 'gardening' the database, pulling out the weeds as they see them, and in a few cases we've (our clients) have implemented processes that reward proper filling in of contact/company/opportunity records. It's all about changing the culture to one of seeing the database as the pot of gold that it is, so that all staff see the value in maintaining it properly.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm not familiar with making fields mandatory in Outlook, there might be a plugin, or we could program it. But I fully agree with Ben, I'm configuring Act! for 15 years, and less than 1% of the fields I have made mandatory. Sometimes I write a document for using Act! within an organisation, and we let the organisations have training their employees motivated to fill out all the relevant fields for their Act! CRM.
