ACT Is Hard Down - The Local Compute Could Not Be Reached ...

[ Edited ]

Update:  I was able to find another computer and installing the backup went fine.  Therefore, it must be something with my system.  I just don't know where to look.  And as always, you help is appreciated.

Regards ---

I reimaged my system and re-installed ACT V16.  The process included a full wipe of the HDD and a reinstall of Windows 8.

After re-installing ACT, I received the error message "The local computer could not be reached because the IP address "" could not be resolved. ...

Any help please.  I am really hurting.

Re: ACT Is Hard Down - The Local Compute Could Not Be Reached ...

Problem has been resolved.  Here's what happened and what I did.

First, after reformatting the HDD and re-installing Windows 8, I immediately installed ACT.  I never gave Windows a chance to process all the updates.

I then uninstalled ACT, ran all the Windows updates, re-installed ACT and the problem has been resolved.

If you read this board, a great shoulout to Mr. Roberts - thanks for the guidance.

Delete and recreate the PAD file.  Or just edit it.

I appreciate the help, but I've reformatted my HDD and only have the backup to work from.

I'm also getting another erro which is attached.

Solving that problem is beyond the scope of the community forum in my opinion.  You're going to need to get support from Swiftpage or from an ACT! Certified Consultant.
