ACT! Import problem, only imports the first contact! HELP!!!

I've spent about 3 hours trying to get ACT! to import a new list of contact emails. Unfortunately everytime I do an import operation from excel, csv, text, tab seperated file and so on, it ONLY IMPORTS THE FIRST CONTACT! 

 

 

THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!

 

ALSO, when I choose to do a custom import the window does list all of the thousands of contacts that are in the file. However once I choose next and run the operation, only the top contact is added to the database and ACT! doesnt import the rest....

 

WHAT IS GOING ON???

 

This is crucial for my business and I dont know how to fix this problem, someone here must know what to do. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Mpst likely your duplicate checking settings. Most common mistake, blank matches blank.

Mpst likely your duplicate checking settings. Most common mistake, blank matches blank.

yeah about an hour after posting that last night I found out that if I uncheck "remove duplicates checkbox" it'll import the list. Now I'm wondering, why does that system consider the list of emails duplicates? There are no duplicate emails, so I dont understand why ACT! removes all of them if that checkbox is ticked. It's verry strange... I'm sure many people run into this problem because I've got to say, that option is on by defualt and it's extremely misleading. I'm not sure what that option does now since it seems to break ACT! completely! Anyways thanks for the quick response!

It checks duplicates on user specified fields, not necessarily the inport fields.
