i asked Gilles at Exponenciel:
If I go ahead and buy the dialer plugin for ACT pro 2011 before you discontinue it, couldn't I keep on using it even after you discontinue it?
He replied, "Sure, the license never expires."
The only thing i can't do after they discontinue the plugin is get one for a newer ACT version.

It's only $30 bucks.. I wonder why the mj plus will not work if used when plugged into pc usb port(instead of the router)? I will be getting the newest mj go soon( couple of weeks ) and will play around with it on my ACT!v17.2 pro.. I may also upgrade to act! v18 pro soon on one of my pc's and toy with that?

I found the Universal Dialer Plugin for $39.95 [http://www.exponenciel.com/actaddons/actaddon.aspx?ID=138] which is certainly worth the price: No cutting and pasting, just click on icon and it dials, no modem required. It works on Skype and other softphone dialers as well as MJ; also, no restrictions on MJ versions; and it works on every ACT! version from 2010 through V17. Also, it fixes a glaring deficiency in ACT in general by adding a call timer. Perhaps best of all, it will not be discontinued, according to Gilles Cavin at exponenciel.
Hope this is helpful to some of our fellow ACT users.
Thanks again for all your help!
FYI: I have purchased upgrade to V17.
