On some pc's I use the magic jack autodialer addon from Exponenciel.- Works great. http://exponenciel.com/actaddons/actaddon.aspx?ID=107
The addon will place a call button on your act! layouts where the phone fields exist. - Uses the internet/router - no internal modem required.
I also use AT&T external phones ( two line dec 6.0 )- purchased from walmart. I have two magic jack phone numbers running thru that one phone.
Good luck.. Cheers - FSBill

For my act autodialer, i use mj ( not plus ) . mj is plugged into a usb port in back of pc. Uses the mj software phone ( with speaker/head phone -mic ) setup.
I use mj pluses on my external phone. I would give it a try and please let me know.

I downloaded the 14 day trial [twice] cannot get it to run. Sent Exponenciel a support request but no response yet.
I tried to run it both with and without ACT and MJ open. I have the latest MJversion called the "GO" plus an old original that I havent used in a long time. Guess I could renew that one.
Will let you know what happens.

Not sure. We have not tested. If you use the magicJack desktop application, it might. We are going to discontinue this product with the release of Actv18 because most people who have at one point used magicJack have gone away from it due to their restrictions on the number of calls as well as call quality.

I hate to hear of his discontinuing of that mj add-on. I have used these products for years and love the quality and functionality. Not to mention the cost or the lack thereof. You don;t have to have the add-on to enjoy using magic jack desktop app with stereo phone/mic or the desk top phone systems. I think they work best with the at&t brand phones I mentioned?
I would recommend - ensuring that your user accounts control is turned off when using act or the add-on's.
If you need to track your calls history in ACT!, you may consider using Skype and the Skype add-on from exponenciel? If that is a possibility or need, you might inquire with exponenciel as to his continuing support of that add-on. Cheers - FSBill

If I go ahead and buy the dialer app before they discontinue it, couldn't I keep on using it even after they discontinue it? ACT2011 is not going to change so the dialer would not have to be updated.
Are you saying i can still dial out without copying and pasting #s using the magic jack desktop app with stereo phone/mic or the desk top phone systems? [By desk top, do you mean MJ plugged in to the computer directly?
I have had trouble with Skype quality and with getting a local number,

yep - use the desk app with mj plugged into pc usb port rather than router..

Let me see if I understand. The Desk Top app is what pops up when I plug the MJ into the USB, right? That's where I have been pasting the ph#. How does dialing work without copying and pasting?

Correct and you can copy/paste the number or just dial it, but it is the Exponencial mj add-on that interfaces with the ACT! dialer feature. so that all you would do is press the dial button automatically located next to the act layout phone number fields..
