Ok bit of a strange one here, iv got a dataabase of 25k records and over the past few months a few telesales guys have been calling through the records making appointments etc. It has know been decided that this is not good and we need to split out the records seperatley for the 3 telesales user.
So what i am asking is can the records be locked down so that only certain users can view there own records, and any new ones that i may assign. The others users are not to see records that they dont own.
Otherwise would it be worth splitting the database into 3 parts(would this be reccomended).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are using ACT! Premium, then you can use limited access definations to allow only certain users to view certain contacts. In order to do this, you will need to make sure that your telesales reps are Standard users in the database. Use the steps in the following KB article to setup limited access:
There are also instructions in this article on how to change to access for a single contact and for multiple contacts.
*If you are not using ACT! Premium, then your only options for access are Public (all users can see) and Private (only Record Manager can see), so your best option in that case may be to split the database.
