ACT Companion Link & ACT Companion

I am trying to setup ACT Companion link on my ACT premium on Server 2012 R2 server. 

 

The Act Companion Link is running and started and says tunnel connected.

 

I have opened port 22 on my Server Firewall.

 

But when I try and connect to the URL given by the connect link using ACT Companion on my Android mobile I get the "Verify Server" error as if it cannot connect to the server.

 

Now a few questions:

1. To Access this outside the local network do I need to open any ports or do any port forwarding as I understood it used port 80.

2. Do I need to open any other ports in my firewall?

3. Can I check anything in my logs to see what is happening?

Hello,

Try replacing the password for user in Act!.
Then go back to phone and try with new password.
Often this resolves the "Verify Server" message on the phone.

I have added a password to a standard user and tried logging in under that user and password and still the same error.

Yes, the Act! Companion requires a password.

Does the standard user have web.api under permissions?

I have added the Web.API access to the user I am trying to login as and still no joy.

Could something on my server be taking the port 80 traffic?

How do I know that Act Connect is getting through to the connect link?

Connect link acts as a virtual tunnel to port 80 on your machine. If you have a website that redirects all traffic on port 80 then it will be directed to that site instead of the API.

No I don't have a website that redirect on the server, but port 80 can be used by other programs on a Windows Server.

Regarding WEB API why is this needed as I am using ACT for Windows and not Web Access the WEB API is used for that.

I just followed this http://kb.act.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38336/~/how-do-i-install-the-act%21-connect-link%3F and installed the ACT Link software on top of my Act Premium.

In Chrome on the Phone try going to https://<insert_your_server_name>/Act.Web.API/Help
Does it return about two lines of info?
