ACT!7 error on re-installing

ACT!7 error on re-installing

I had to re-format my XP computer, I saved the ADF files.

 

Re-installed ACT - no problems. Set up a test company.

 

Tried to open an existing database via File/Open Database

 

Pointed to the ADF files (after changing the file type to "ACT! database"), clicked on Open, then received  a message - "ACT! will now verify the database" , clicked on the OK button and then next message was:

 

                                                                                   "Database "xxxxx" already exists"

 

Click on OK & the Working screen comes up & just continues & continues, etc.

 

I tried importing data into test company & again I get the    "Database "xxxxx" already exists" message.

 

Note- the only PAD files are the demo & test files

This ACTDIAG its not for your version of ACT, But I seen it worked for few computers

If its not works for you search low version of ACTDIAG,  v15 is the latest one

 

Take a copy of your ACTDIAG and replace with new

If you replace with your ACTDIAG it will show you in DB list in ACTDIAG whether you have already a db with this name.

Remove it and then open with ADF through act program.
