ACT! 2012 remote restore read only`

Hello,


on ACT! 2012 i have one user who cannot restore a remote database after the upgrade due to a database being read only error. The main database isn't read only and neither is the .rdb restore file. Also only one user is having this issue. Anyone have any thoughts as to what could be causing this?

Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. What is the exact error message received when trying to unpack and restore the remote database (,rdb) file?

The exact error is

 

"Failed to restore remote database. The Database is read only"

Did you copy the .RBD file to the local C: drive of the remote machine and unpack from there? I have seen this error when attempting to restore it from an external drive or disk. If the file is not marked read-only, then the other possibility is the .RDB file is damaged and will need to be recreated. Best practice is to create it on a local drive of the server, copy it to an external drive, disk, or shared network location, then, copy it to the local drive of the remote machine.
