The new ACT 2011 will not open on 2 different Windows 7 computers. To get it to open on one machine I need to go into "SERVICES.MSC" and scroll down to SQL Server ACT and turn it on. This is a repeated problem I am having, and it gets a little tiring to open ACT 2011 in this manner.
To open ACT 2011 on my other Windows 7 machine I must go to user accounts. Inside User Account Controls I need to turn off controls, which leaves my system open to harmful programs. When I am finished using ACT 2011 I go back to User Account Controls and set them at the default settings. Again this is a big inconvenience. Every time I use ACT I have to change the security levels on the computer.
The sad part is, I upgrade from ACT 2006 which worked fine on my computer.
