Thanks TXDave for the exceptions! They worked for ACT 2012 also. I was so close to reinstalling ACT. This saved me a lot of grief and probably still no solution.

I have the same prblem .... I currently have ACT 2012 and have been an ACT user for over 15 years!
I've had AVG for the longest time, but just over the last 3-4 days I've not been able to start my ACT application. I disabled AVG temporarily, and voila.... it started.
Just for your info ... .AVG did an update recently in my computer... probably AVG is the culprit.
Is there any setting ini AVG that I need to do to avoid this happening evverytime I start ACT 2012? Can someone please advise?

Did every single one, exactly as listed. Still no joy. Act! 16 premium. What a royal pain!
