ACT 2011 Import Tab separated file

When importing a Tab separated file using the Typical Import or Custom Import option ACT treats a two word First Name (eg Mary Jane) as First Name = Mary and Middle Name = Jane.

Is there a way to force ACT to follow the Field Mapping?

There isn't a way to change this behavior in the ACT! import process.  You may be able to find an add-on program that has this option - to visit our Add-on Store visit this link: Act! Add-ons.

Hi conduit1,

I find that IMPORT IT is good for this.

See http://www.crmaddon.com/en/products/act/import-it/comparison/ for more.

I believe you can. That is if I understand you right. You want to add "Mary Jane" as first and last instead of ACT seeing it as her Middle name ?    I could in ACT 2008. I can not open MY ACT right now to give you step by step. But try going to the HELP tab at the top on your right.. Tutorials and something along the lines of Mapping fields should walk you threw matching your fields with ACTS. If not type just that in the search bar in help. ( Matching my fields /columns to ACTS fields) It also might give you steps in the tutorial for Importing into ACT.

Hope this helps!
