I am investigating using ACT! 2010 on a Small Business Server 2008 Premium network with 15 WinXP clients (maybe 7-10 using ACT!). I will be converting users from ACT! 6. I want to house the database on the one server box running SBS 2008 64-bit, Exchange 64-bit, and SQL 2005 64-bit (in SQL 2000 compatibility mode). I would prefer to house no other ACT! bits on the server unless the application requires it. Is this doable? Anything to watch out for?
I would guess I am looking at a SQL Express variant of ACT!. The compatibility info on this site talk about installing on SBS 2008 and forcing some things to 32-bit. This shrieks incompatibility problem with other components. Maybe they are talking about installing an ACT! client on SBS 2008 for some strange situation. Maybe there are server-side bits that force these things. I can't tell from the explanation.
Thanks for any info,
