We have a new client system and we tried to install ACT! 2010 Contact & Customer Manager, but it throws out a "SQL database did not install sucessfully" error.
The system is a Windows XP 32 bit Service Pack 3.
It also meets all the hardware requirements that are listed. We can't seem to find out why the installation is failing at this point.

If this computer does not have any other programs using Microsoft SQL Server 2005, I would uninstall all components of SQL and then rename the 'Microsoft SQL Server' folder contained within 'C:\Program Files' (ex: Microsoft SQL Server - old).
Reboot the computer and then install SQL (and the ACT7) instance manually, using the instructions in this article: KB Article 19386
If it does not install correctly, this method may provide better error reporting to help determine the cause.
