ACT 2009 and ODBC connection to ACCESS

We are upgrading our computers to Windows 7 64 bit and I will still need to Access my ACT 2009 Premium files.

The best way would be through ACCESS ODBC since ours files are too large for Excel

Re: ACT 2009 and ODBC connection to ACCESS

No problem.

We currently use ACT 2007 Premium vs 09.

We are using a Windows XP machine to access the DB.

We just upgraded our business system and that has software intregated that will take the place of our ACT software.

In upgrading our infrastructure we are upgrading all PC's to Windows 7 64 bit.

With the Win 7 64 we will no longer have access to our ACT DB.

I tried to export and link the DB to EXCEL but the tables are to large for EXCEL worksheets.

If i could create an ODBC to ACCESS I could write queries to access the information we need from the ACT DB.

Have a look at the following article, it may be what you need: KB Article 22989

How do I Get ACT Reader that is compatible with ACT 2007 VS 09?

Re: ACT 2009 and ODBC connection to ACCESS

I believe you will find it in the C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows directory... 'actreader.exe'

If not, you should be able to use the one attached to the article (actreader.zip)

I cannot install ACT on the knew computer so it will not be at that location.

Is there a download for the reader?

I assume you are still working with the database on the XP machine. The file would be in the Program Files directory on the XP machine. You will only be able to access it through the XP machine.

How can I export the information from our database so we can have access from new PC's?
