ACT! 2008 - The default email account is not ready

ACT! 2008 - The default email account is not ready

When clicking on an email address in the contact layout, I receive the following error : "Cannot create email because the default email account is not ready". I have properly set up ACT! to use Internet Mail as the mail system and my POP3 account is properly configured. The connection tests are successful. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Are you able to open ACT! email and perform a send/receive successfully?

Error: "Email message cannot be created because the default email client is not ready"

Same problem here; I close the Act email, close Act, the reopen Act then reopen Email and it works fo rawhile. It does the same thing again once or twice a day.

Thanks for the reply. Send / Receive does work either. I did not know about actdiag. Maybe it could have been useful. I solved the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling ACT!
