Re: ACT!2006 and Windows 7 64-bit compatability

Thanks I tried this but get an error message that "The database could not be accessed" etc. I copied all the ACT files relating to my old databases in to the new ACT! folder. Is that necessary?

Remove the PAD file ... it has references to the computer name
File | Open
Change file type to ADF and select the database
ACT! should open, convert and create a new PAD

Re: ACT!2006 and Windows 7 64-bit compatability

Thanks Mike, and excuse my being thick but...

When I click on File I get the option "Open database", is that the one I use?

Which ACT!2006 files should I copy to the new PC in ACT!2010, the "database files" or the pad files?

And in to which folder, the Database folder?

Finally, which file do I change to ADF?

Tks again.

Hi Mike, I just found the place to convert the database to ADF. After telling me it had to convert the databse to a new edition, it's asking me for a password for the database which I don't have. Slowly going made here... ! G
