ACT 2006 (V8), Windows 7, and Office 2010

Hello to All!  New member desperately seeking CORRECT information!  LOL!

OK, so I have a new laptop, running Windows 7, 64 bit, Office 2010, and I need to convert (Install ACT 2006 and move database files) to the new machine.  I have read just enough on here to be thoroughly confused!  I am seriously hoping that my program and files will transfer and be compatible with the new systems.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Rmedlinnc,

Welcome to the Sage ACT! Online Community!

ACT! 2006 is not compatible with Windows 7, nor any 64-bit OS.  And it will not recognize Office 2010.

Thanks, Greg. I purchased 2012 Pro today. Got it up and running.

Re: ACT 2006 (V8), Windows 7, and Office 2010

Hi,

I upgraded from Act9 (2007), Win XP, Office 2002 earlier this year to Act2012, Office 2010 and Win 7.  Very pleased, it's a huge improvement, hope you love it like I do.

How did you go with the Database restore? I had to step it through Act 2010 to get a clean database.  Once I figured that out, it's been great. So many of the old niggles dealt with, and some slick new features, still finding some!

Cheers, Graham.
