I'm sorry if I am submitting this question in the wrong place but I am a first time user of this site.
I downloaded ACT 2005 just recently for a job I am trying to obtain but I cannot get the dialer to work. I keep getting the "Internal phone dialer error 8000019. Try restarting your computer or reinstalling your telephoney software."
I've done all that repeatedly. I have taken down my firewalls. I have turned off AVG. I have working headphones and a working mic as part of the headset. I have checked my modem on my computer to see if there are issues there and nothing seems to be helping.
I am using XP and I have dsl I believe, my modem controls both phone and internet.

Unfortunately I have no choice in the matter. I have to use this version because this is the one the company requires. An add on? Is that ANOTHER expense?
*getting seriously frustrated now with these work people*

According to my company I do not have a Winmodem. Just called them now.
And when you say "a real phone connected to the modem, not a headset and microphone working through the computer" you mean I would need to add a third line? Or do you mean I need to buy some sort of adaptor from my phone itself to the computer? Otherwise I see no way to do that unless you can unplug your phone from the modem and plug it into the back of the computer but still access the phone lines.
