ACT. 18 problem after Windows 10 Build 1067 !

Hi,

 

We have couple of  ACT! 18.1.103.0, Update 3 that can't open anymore there database since windows 10 Anniversary update 1607.

Previous build still works. 

Error:

"the database ___ could not be accessed. In order to access check your network connection & verify your database service is available. It may be necessary to disconnect your firewall..."

Hi I had this issue as well.

This worked for me:

  1. Stop SQL services
  2. Copy the following from ACT\Act Data:
    1. folder containing database files
    2. .adf
    3. .alf
    4. .pad
  3. Restart pc (or manually restart services).
  4. Double click pad file above.
  5. Let ACT update the database.

I had to tidy up a little (letter templates) but everything else seems to be OK (schedules tasks and activity series).

i managed to fix it by restore from backup. since we have a dozen of those i expect problem will show up on others and will try your suggestion..
