One of our users running ACT! 16 on her Window 8 machine has started experiencing a problem this morning with ACT. When she calls up ACT it prompts for the password and after she enters it, the ACT icon shows on the task bar but the ACT window doesn't display. It was working fine for several months since its installation.
Can someone offer a solution to get the ACT window to come up again? We tried selecting "maximize" in the Windows 8 Task Manager application tab but there is apparently no maximize menu option when you right-click the app. She is not running a second monitor so the window is not displayed elsewhere.

in some cases act stores location from window, you may want to reset the preferences, this will probably solve your issue
