Re: ACT 12 and Win 8

Thanks again--it's easy to be unhappy with Microsoft too. Remember I'm the guy who was happy with Act (1) or whatever it was in 1990. Perhaps I can find an unused copy of an earlier premium version, or forget Win 8.

ACT 12 =2010   Sage doesn't make it easy. Just plain vanilla, doesn't say premium or pro on disc.

Re: ACT 12 and Win 8

With ACT! 2010, only the Premium version could use SQL 2008.

You might need to upgrade to ACT! 2013, which can run on Win8 ... and SP1 will be certified for it

Thanks, but nothing happy about ACT.

It's Microsoft, not ACT!, that didn't make Windows 8 to be able to run Microsoft SQL 2005 cleanly.

Re: ACT 12 and Win 8

Actually it's Microsoft that's not making their earlier versions of Microsoft SQL compatible with Windows 8.

BTW, do you think ACT Pro 2011 would run on Win 8 and sql 2008??

Re: ACT 12 and Win 8

It's untested - so it might install but you might find issues later ... first version to be tested will be 2013 SP1

You can use SQL 2008 as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article -
