ACT 10 Trouble importing data into fields

We have ACT! 10 and I'm trying to import quarterly data into fields of current contacts.  I've tried the .txt file import and the .csv but nothing works.  I've checked to make sure the fields are not "read only".  I've checked the enable duplicate settings in the menu.

 

I have 771 contacts that need the updated information imported.  The last time I tried 10 of the contacts successfully accepted the new data in the designated fields.  I can't figure out any difference between the 10 successful contact and the other 761.  Ideas?

If you are attempting to 'update' a field that already has data, it will not do that.  It will only populate the fields that are currently empty.  An option would be to import to an unused field (ex: User 10), then perform a Lookup of the updated contacts and use the Edit > Copy Field option to copy the data from one field to the other.

 

Note: Always make a backup of the database before performing mass updates (File > Backup > Databse).
