ACT 10 Password Issue

I have an older version of ACT! which I use simply because I am used to it. However in creating a new data base I used the same ID but a new password. Now when trying to get into either the old database or the new one I get an error message that says: Could not authenticate user. Verify user name and password and try again.

Re: ACT 10 Password Issue

In windows go to the Start and type actdiag this will start a utility called ActDiag. When it runs it will be a grey box.
Select DATABASES > DATABASE DETAIL LIST> Highlight the first database and RIGHT MOUSE CLICK > DATABASE REPORTS> CHECK User Logins. A report will be on your desktop. Open the report and it will tell you what the user name used for that database. It won't tell you the password but at least you will know what the user name is. Do the same process with the second database and hopefully this will help you remember what the password is for each database and for each of your users.
