One of ACT!10 major reports called " CONTACT REPORT " seems to produce incorrect results.
I did a lookup on ID Status= Candidate-Job Seeker(my own custom added item) and wanted to use the CONTACT REPORT to list those 5 Candidate-Job Seekers . Those items did not show up on report. When I multi selected the field to also include the item called Employee, then the Contact Report worked fine. Seems to me, The Contact Report, should list whatever is in my search results?
Sage is going to have someone call me so I can show them first hand exactly what the prob is. But it seems that in order for the report to produce correct results, you must have certain criteria entered into the ID STATUS field ? If you add additional items to the ID STATUS field such as: Job Seeker, those Contact records will not get printed with the CONTACT REPORT. If the ID STATUS field contains something like Employee( an already existing ACT field name list item), then the record will get printed on that report. It seems that REGARDLESS OF WHAT IS ENTERED IN THE ID STATUS FIELD, IF MY SEARCH PRODUCES 5 CONTACTS, THEN THAT "CONTACT REPORT" SHOULD LIST 5 RESULTS ALSO. THAT IS NOT THE CASE. Other reports have similar bugs and I am eagerly awaiting Sage to schedule a meeting with me so I can show their Programmers what up.. I was able to produce this flaw in several databases including my ACT!10 DEMO Database that came from Sage.
My Programmer is a Certified ACT Consultant and he confirms possible flaw? Hopefully Sage will get with me ASAP as they did on one other ocassion so we can get this resolved in most timely manner. Curious if anyone else has noticed this problem?
Thank you from FillStaffBill ...

The reports are working as designed.
The report does not look at the content of a field in a lookup. However, the Contact report default configuration has the detail section property Hide on Empty Sub-Report set to Yes so that any record that has nothing to report in the subreports will not be included in the report. If you edit the Contact report and change that property to No, that will fix your problem.

Thank you Very Much. But why in the world would that be a default setting for perhaps the most commonly used report ?
I believe that worked and will see if I can get back on track.
