Re: ACT 10.0

I have just purchased ACT! 2010 and when I loaded it on my laptop it deleted the earlier version.  Not a big deal because I have it backed up and also have it on my desktop.  When I install it on my desktop how will I ensure that it pulls all my contacts (3500+) from the previous version to the new one?

Re: ACT 10.0

The installation/upgrade to ACT! 2010 will not affect your database as long as it is not located in your Program Files directory.  But we do recommend that before you install ACT! 2010 (on your desktop) you create a backup of your database in the previous version.  This is done under File > Backup > Database.

Once the install of ACT! 2010 is complete, when you open the program it will use the previous version's 'last opened database' setting and open your database, and at that time prompt you to update it to the ACT! 2010 format.
