64 bit Office

Are there plans to support Office 2010 64 bit from Act 2012?  Surely it's getting time?

Please go to "Share Your Ideas" forum and search on 64-bit to add your recommendations to upgrade to the 64-bit world.

Re: 64 bit Office

The main problem with this is the Microsoft don't yet support ActiveX in the 64bit version that many addins use ... this is why Microsoft themselves advise not using it in 64bit mode.

So, do we know if and when this will come from Microsoft?

Hard to say because there is not much need. Only very large spreadsheets benefit from the 64-bit version.

Re: 64 bit Office

My guess it that they have a problem supporting the legasy code and that it might not happen till they drop much of that support with the Windows 8 versions in another year or two
