255 character limit when exporting Opportunity fields to Excel

[ Edited ]

I've seen the workarounds to this by File>Export to text delimited CSV file, but cannot figure out how to do this for just the fields I have in the Opportunity List view. The export record choices do not include Oppportunity records, just Contact, Group, & Company. Any advice would be much appreciated. Right now my character and memo fields are getting truncated to 255 characters when I do an Export to Excel. I'm using Act Pro v17 on WIndows 7, with Excel 2010. - Thanks!

UPDATE - got ahold of Swiftpage Customer Support and they said there is no way to export Opportunity fields to Excel without all character and memo fields truncating to 255 characters. Even though the latest versions of Excel support more than 255, they said this is not a high priority fix for them.

Re: 255 character limit when exporting Opportunity fields to Excel

We have an add-on Impact Suite which can export all the characters in any memo field from any table including the opportunity list.  We support up to 32,712 characters (the maximum length of the memo field).

To export:

1) Install Impact Suite

2) Go to the opportunity list ( now enhanced )

3) Right-click and select Data->Export from the pop-up menu.

4) You will be asked to save the the export file to your hard drive.

To learn mode about Impact Suite for ACThttp://durkincomputing.com/

Thanks
