Act pro12
install hangs hangs on checking SQLserver status.
I have re installed msql server 2008 R2, it installed correctly but ACT still hangs on install
any help would appreciated

Tried all things but no go
decided to move that machine to other duties and installed ACT12 on a fresh system
It installed with no problems.
It seems to me, from my experience at least, that when it is good it is very good but when its bad its horrid.
Once an istall fails, the chances of a recovery are slim......Is that a fair assesment?

Not necessarily - unless there is an issue with the operating system on that machine. Most installs fail due to faulty operating system (Windows) components, firewall/antivirus issues, issues with your user profile, or leftover components from an older install. Most of these can be resolved and result in a successful installation. Either way, I am glad to hear you were able to successfully install on the other machine.
