2009 Act and Outlook

I can get Outlook to receive messages, but not send them. I am using Yahoo server. Per Yahoo it states to use the following:

RECEIVE: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com

SEND: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com

I have done this and it still does not send messages.

Help>>>>>>>

Re: 2009 Act and Outlook

I finally figured out what the problem was. i had to change my outgoing server to 587 from 25. It works great now.

Thanks for the info.

Re: 2009 Act and Outlook

Yahoo requires custom port settings. ACT uses POP3: 110 and SMTP: 25. Most ISP or internet mail services use these anymore so ACT email is still useless. You will have to access your email through outlook or outlook express. I don't know what is so difficult for Sage to allow custom port settings for the email side of thier program but it has been this way for years and they don't seem to care what the customer needs.

Re: 2009 Act and Outlook

I am trying to use Outlook and it lets me receive emails, but won't let me send any. Can't figure out why. Thought my settings were what Yahoo says to make them
