2008 Act will not load

2008 Act will not load

The welcome screen shows but does not load. Message "Access to the path "C:\Documents and settings\.....Data\depdentdills.xml is denied". Tried Sage support by changing preferences to Read only. Could not find a security tab as they showed. At times it has been hard to load. I needed to restart the computer to load. It seems I had a virus attack this morning. Resolved that but now Act will not load.

Welcome to the Sage ACT! User Community. If you are getting that error, it means the either that file is missing, damaged, you do not have permissions to access it. First verify the file is there in the filepath specified in the error message. If it is, then right-click on it, select Properties, go to the Security tab, add the Everyone group, and grant Full Control.
