Re: 123 Synchronizer Reviews?

123 Synchronizer is a great concept, but it lacks longevity (had issues inside 30days).  Software can have its problems, but trying to find aresolution to these problems is on your dime.  The "email support” provided for a one-year license is lack luster to say the least.  The supportteam (one man) does not have the capacity to rectify the problem(s) via email.  It's essentially their way of  introducing you to the linkbelow.  Unless you have an in house IT group or deep pockets, I'd recommend going another route, as it adds up!

123 worked out of the box.in minutes but its expensive

leaves a marker in notes...

[*** 123 Sync Marker. Add notes above to sync with ACT! ***]

i dont like that and if in the future i stop using it, i'm stuck with the notation

still at a reasonable one time price i would use it

You Can turn off the Marker, or change it to something else if you wish, you don't need to use the default one.

Kind Regards

Re: 123 Synchronizer Reviews?

One of my resellers contacted us about this thread and I have to respond. It is our policy not to get involved in newsgroups but after I saw all the false statements in this thread, I think we must respond.

First, 123 Sync is primarily a server product. One installation, one place to configure, one place for failure. If you have Exchange, Outlook or Office 365, 123 Sync synchronizes with all those platforms. What does it synchronize?:

  • Contacts
  • Calendar
  • Todos
  • And any custom data.

In addition, what does 123 Sync do what no other product does:

  • Email Integration. It integrates all sent/received emails from any device (ipad/iphone/android/windows) . 98% of our communication with customers is via email. Can you live with a sync product that does not integrate your email with Act!?

One question I'd like to answer here:

  • The Sync Marker. Any data that is entered above the Sync marker gets transferred to Act! as a Note. It is quite cool to be able to create contact notes right off your phone. If you don't want the marker there, just delete the marker in the 123 Sync settings and it will dissapear from the contact notes. The Sync Marker is NOT some ID mechanism as some of these posts imply.

The ultimate beauty of 123 Sync is that you don't need to install an app on your phone. Ever. You can use all your native phone apps. Change phones and you are still in business.

We have you video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmhbUOFKLpo , 90 Seconds to Sync, where we instruct our users how to sync their Act! database with Outlook/Exchange or http://youtu.be/f0Fy4VWY16k  where in less than 2 minutes you can sync with Office 365 without having Outlook installed. Our products are FREE to try.So if you have not tried 123 Sync, join the multitude of corporations that are saving thousand of dollars with a server only solution.

If our videos don't convince our users, just download our free trial and see for yourself. And you don't have to have someone login to your system to set it up.

There is a contributor on this newsgroup that continuously guides you to HHC. Just about everything that he states about our product in this thread is false.

Tom,

That is not the case. Other products are capable of attaching email to Act! independent of device, operating system and email client. Working with or without  Microsoft Exchange or indeed with or without any Microsoft product.

Re: 123 Synchronizer Reviews?

What I meant was that no other product syncs and attaches email all in one package. My mistake. Sometimes I get too excited.....

Accepted and to which I would add...

In my experience, there is no product that I or my people have tried that reliably syncs, other than those/that product(s) not reliant on a third party product's object identity (EntryID) remaining unique and unchanged since first creation. I'm conspicuously not mentioning products, you will notice, so as to preserve the peace. Thanks for your input.

Re: 123 Synchronizer Reviews?

123 Sync relies on EntryID as a first pass. However, the EntryID can change for the same contact. Here's actions that have a high posibility to change the EntryID for the same contact:

  •       Restore.
  •       Merge
  •       Re-Index (in Act!).
  •       Duplicate Cleaning
  •       Phone Reset or New Phone. Especially on large corporations where multiple phones/tablets are all connected to a single Act! Database.

Hence, 123 Sync uses EntryID/ID as a first pass and then we've implemented expert system technology, pattern matching and fuzzy logic when the EntryID technology fails. The result has been a complete elimination of duplicates.

The key part of 123 Sync is what it does when things go haywire i.e. a mass modifications of EntryIDs or just a complete redo of all Act! ID's. From what I've seen, we've been very successfull in this arena. That is why most of our customers tend to be 10+Users synchronizing iPhones, Tablets, Androids, WIndows Phones, etc. with Act!.
