inport data base (contacts) from an older ACT version to a newer one

I have a new pc and I want to load my database (which has about 900 contacts) from my older pc which currently has version ACT 4.0 onto the new pc which which I will load with ACT 6.0.

Can someone walk me through the process of exporting from the old version onto a disk and then importing the database from the the disk back onto the new ACT 6.0 version on the new pc so that I have all my contacts.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You will need to go to file back up in version 4, transfer this back via a floppy or USB thumb drive, which ever way you wish, to the new machine with version 6 on it, do a file restore it will ask you to browse to the location of the back up once it does this it will start the conversion process to version 6. Also there is no longer support for version 6 so may want to look at upgrading to ACT! 2008

Hope this helps
