When restoring from standby mode, I get a fatal error message, Act! 6.0 (build 18.104.22.1689) freezes. To get it working again I have to go into task manager, end the program, then restart it. My OS is Windows XP Pro. Any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. The peculiar aspect of this is that the problem only recently started to occur. I had been using sleep mode without any problems for about two years. In an attempt to solve the problem, a couple of days ago, I removed and reinstalled the program, but the problem has persisted. Thanks again.

When I was in ACT! tech support we basically wouldn't support standby or sleep mode because the ACT! program continually interacts with the hard drive.
However, here's a thought, try turning off opportunistic locking.

I have just found your response. Thanks, but, could you please tell me what "opportunistic locking" is? ... and how do I turn it off? I would very much like not having to turn off Act! prior to entering sleep mode. Thanks again.

It's a Windows setting, try a Google search.
