After a rename of our server the files are not located at the location \\server1\docs anymore but at \\server2\docs. obviously ACT!6 cannot find them anymore and constantly tries to find the server and thus get's very slow (Plus we cannot find the documents anymore).
So: the question: Can I edit the links in the database so they point to the correct location again? Changing the standard location doesn't do the trick!
You can edit the links, you would need to remove the attachment and then re-attach the file to establish a new link and you would need to do this one at a time. There a couple of third party utilities that will automatically update the links based on information that you provide to the utility. They can be found at www.actaddons.com.
