I seem to be solving one problem and then another turns up!
ACT 603
Outlook 2000 SP3
Right now the situation is:
My database or Demo gives same results
I can open ACT e-mail and see all normal folders
Some buttons are grey initially but then turn normal after about 15 – 20sec
If I reply or New and send, the e-mail sits in outbox and can’t be sent.
Close ACT e-mail and open Outlook and then open e-mail in outbox which I can then send.
I have been through KB articles and all OK except I can’t find msghead file.
In addition I have ensured that no AV software on this PC then clean install of ACT. I have opened it and then installed update patches. After each patch opened ACT and then restarted PC.
After ACT installed I have then installed Office and patches.
I have been through registry and ensured that there are no ~ and all paths are correct.
I will be grateful for any advice.
Regards
Peter

Generally I will put all of the updates on before installing ACT. Have you tried running a detect and repair from the help menu in Outlook.
What about removing the extend.data file in Outlook did that have any impact

Outlook must be open to send the emails.
ACT! can only put the emails into the Outlook Outboox and then Outlook must do a Send/Receive to send them

Thanks for your help, but I'm a little confused.
You say, "Outlook must be open to send the emails." Is this something new for XP? All the other machines run W2K and the Readme files in the patches are explicit that Outlook should not be open. They all run from ACT e-mail quite happily and Outlook is never open.
Having said that I tried your suggestion and the e-mail went (very slowly) but the ACT and Outlook folders are not synchronised. There still seems to be an underlying problem.
Any other suggestions gratefully received.
