Updating ACT from FoxPro requires re-index.

I'm Updating ACT! progragmatically from FoxPro, my routine works,

however I don't see the changes until I do a Re-Index of the Act Database.

Has Anybody had a similar issue. ??

Act 2000 (I know, I know.....)

FoxPro 9.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Updating ACT from FoxPro requires re-index.

Consider yourself luck that you can see the data after you reindex. Of course you will have to reindex because your routine doesn't update the index files so that the ACT! program can find the data. You should be working through the SDK.

Re: Updating ACT from FoxPro requires re-index.

If you haven't found a copy, I think I still have one.

Depending on how fast you code and, if you don't need the update done live, you might find it more economical to look dumping the data to CSV and using the "No Prompt" import/merge/update with Oak!Merge!

Considering the time to learn the SDK (it had some odd quirks) and that support (if needed) for it would not be cheap (those who knew it would still have to take the time to remember), this might be a better option... unless, as I said, you need the updates to be live.
