Transfer ACT 6.0 to new computer

What do I need on my new Windows 7 computer to transfer ACT 6.0 from my old Windows XP computer?

Re: Transfer ACT 6.0 to new computer

About the only way is to set up an XP virtual machine on Windows 7. If it's 64-bit I don't even know if that would work. You would be best to upgrade to ACT! 2012.

Is it difficult to transfer contact information from 6.0.3 to Act! 2012?

Re: Transfer ACT 6.0 to new computer

I was also curious to know if you know of any problems converting a databased for ACT! 6.0 that runs a 32 bit computer runing XP to ACT! 2011 or 2012 that would be on a 64 bit machine running windows 7?

Thanks,

Re: Transfer ACT 6.0 to new computer

I decided to just upgrade to ACT 2012 and a tech rep did the migration for me online.  Everything's working fine.  Thanks for the responses.

ACT v6 runs nicely on Windows 7, 32 bit. It's better to stay with 32 bit for compatibility with many other programs.
