Replacement for ACT!

I have been using ACT! since 1994 - but have given up. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I have always upgraded, assuming that the program was being improved. Unfortunately, each time I lost some important functionality, and as so many have commented, the program is now the slowest one on my computer.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a different product? Or, is there someway to get my data back to version 6 ?
