Registration problems with ACT

I am having problems getting ACT to register that it can use WORD.  I have uninstalled and re-installed ACT, WORD and OUTLOOK and still no luck.

I see that ACT Directory has several files:   RegActInst.exe

have not tried it but it looks interesting.  What does this file do?

Thanks in Advance

G

Re: Registration problems with ACT

Great.

Yes, MergeMaster! Pro a much better way to email merges from ACT! 5/6... here's a trick for you:

If you want to merge a database field into the subject, just type it like <Company:25> or [[Company:25]]

EG:

[[Salutation:40]], I think [[Company:25]] would benefit from this.

Re: Registration problems with ACT

What do you mean "problems getting ACT to register that it can use WORD."?

What version of ACT! (full build from Help | About)?

What version of Word?

What are you trying to do?

What happens?

Re: Registration problems with ACT

THanks for your help.

What version of ACT! (full build from Help | About)?

What are you trying to do?

What happens?

ACT 6.0.3.979

Word 2003  SP3

When trying to write letter in ACT using Word as Processor I get Error Box DrvWd6  >  Unknow ProductVersion Major in CSmiley Tonguerogram Files......\Winword.exe

and a second Error Box Could not open word processor... may be a result of inadequate security permissions.....  ( I have used it many times before without a problem, not a security issue)

Somehow it seems that some links have been broken, I could use all features before, and now I cannot connect from ACT  to Word; Word will not e-mail says it is not registered and I cannot print an e-mail out using Outlook.  Right now I just want to get ACT and Word working.... OR go for a Drink!

This all started because I could not HTML E-mail out of ACT using the HTML Templates, the pictures were stripped out of the e-mail and sent as Internet Mail.

I think I will go for the drink.. bring it to a shop for re-installing windows and start from there.

Have a good week-end, it is going to be snowing here..

Thanks

Re: Registration problems with ACT

Have you tried running Office Detect and Repair (under the Help menu) as per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821593

Have you also installed the ACT! Hotfix for Word 2003?

Re: Registration problems with ACT

I forgot about that one, I dod the 6.0.3 update, I do not think I have the Hotfix file.

Where can I get that file?

Thanks again.

MIKE

Thank you this fixed the problem.  I really appreciate your help.

I also tried the GLC Merge Pro.  Works really nicely.

Thanks again.
