I have used ACT! daily for more than a decade, with my latest version being 6.0. When I have experienced minor glitches in the past, re-installing 6.0 has solved the problem, but NOT today.
This morning when opening 6.0, I was met with an immediate error message, halting access to my program. I warm-booted my PC, then re-installed ACT! 6.0 from my registered commercial disk, but to no avail. Even re-installing with new DeskTop icons lead to the same opening problem.
The ERROR SIGNATURE is
AppName: act.exe AppVer: 6.0.3.979 ModName: act.exe
ModVer: 6.0.3.979 Offset: 0027b7ca
I have NO idea how to interpret the Error Report. I can follow instructions, but am NOT fully computer literat.
Any suggestions?

Roy,
Thank you for quick response.

Roy,
That command opens a box with a bar listing "Options","Maintenance". etc. I am going to try Maintenance. Is that okay?

After creating a back-up, I am "scanning & repairing" DATA base.
I did not find a "reset the default last database" option.

Roy,
Under ACT! Data Diognistic Tool, I found RESET, with Options and Window Positions. One choice is "Default/Last Data Base".
Should I click this option?

I checked the option Default/Last Data Base, then unsuccessfully attempted to open ACT! 6.0. I then COLD booted my PC, then again unsuccessfully re-attempted to open 6.0.
Suggestions?

Try resetting all the options.
If that doesn't help, you'll need to uninstall/reinstall
