You can't do a range lookup on create date in ACT! 6. The later versions of the ACT! program did allow that lookup.

Roy, what about this ACT! Knowledge Base article -

That KB refers to ACT! 2005 and and I think ACT! 2006. Offhand I don't remember when that was fixed. I think it was caused by the fact that every date field in SQL also has a time component that defautlss to 12:00 AM if it's not specified.
The problem with ACT! 6 and before was caused by the way codebase stored dates, at least for system fields. The date was stored as a count of the seconds from a base date that I think was 1-1-1980. This ment that codebase had it's own Y2K type of problem that occured around 2027 when the date seconds count rolled over.

Thanks for the update on the dates, I couldn't remember the exact start date. In tech support we always cautioned against any end dates set too far in the future and if they asked how far we typically gave them 2025.
Regardless of what the KB says about application the create date is 2005 and I know the date range issue started in ACT! 2005. If the problem existied in ACT! 6 and before there would have been a KB created long before 2005.
