If the report is very simply structured in a columnar format without report and page headers, you can create the report as a Text File. Open the text file, highlight all text and paste into MS Excel.

I was thinking if the report is just on contact fields... re-create the report in Excel, directly from the DBF file

Re: Export act report data to excel

The copy and paste method works best if I print to an RTF file, but the formatting is still a little messy.

Is there A) an updated version of ACT or B) a plug-in  that would be a little better at this?(free would be awesome)

Company has decided to keep track of sales contacts via spreadsheet. Smiley Indifferent ?

I don't want to give up use of ACT for obvious reasons.

Thanks listers....

Re: Export act report data to excel

Depends upon the complexity of the report and exactly how you want the data presented, but I'd suggest that an upgrade would provide you with further options. Modern day ACT! (2010 v12) includes a one-click export of Contact List data to Excel. If it were an Opportunity report, export to Excel of Opportunity data also creates a pivot table on-the-fly which is widely loved by many of those who like Excel reporting. There are also a number of addons available with modern Excel (see www.actaddons.com) that support export to Excel activity.
