Email Display Name

I have been using Act! 6 for some years now. I upgraded to MS office 2007 from Office 2000 and noticed that you cannot send emails from Act! directly anymore.

As a consequence I tried a version of Act! 2009 on another machine to test it and hated it...very slow and cumbersome.

I am back to Act! 6 and am using Act! As my address book and sending emails out of Outlook .

Here is the question. When I send an email out of Outlook from a contact that I have retrieved out of my Act! Address book the receiver gets an email with the display name as  TO: Joe Blow (ACT!).

I do not like to have the (ACT!) in the display at all.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this???

Re: Email Display Name

Roy,

Thanks. I understand. My question is can I change either ACT! 6 or Outlook so that the email DOES NOT display (ACT!) after the recipients name.

It will display: John Smith (ACT!)

I want John Smith

Do you know of a fix?

Re: Email Display Name

Just add this as another reason to stay with ACT 6

Re: Email Display Name

Working as designed means it can't be changed, sorry.

Re: Email Display Name

Check the original post and you will find this is ACT! 6. By the way, Outlook adds the ACT! because it comes from the ACT! address book attached to Outlook.

Re: Email Display Name

Well, I use ACT 6 and it doesn't put (ACT) to the recipient

Re: Email Display Name

How do you get rid of this or do you have a duplicate record of the recipient in your Outlook contacts and Outlook "thinks" it is sending its contact file?
