Creating a New Database

I just installed ACT on my PC -- when I open it, the Demo Database opens -- how do I create a new database of my own contacts?

Re: Creating a New Database

Thanks for the quick resposne, Roy.  But I go to "file", click on "new", then click on "ACT database", then it opens a new database window, but when I clikc "save" nothing happens.  I've tried to rename the file, but it still won't save it.

I am missing something, aren't I?

I got it, Roy.  I had to get rid of the "*" in the file name.  Thank you, again, Stan

OK. By what you report, you're are using ACT! 6 or before. What operating system are you using? Also did you give the new database a name?

Re: Creating a New Database

You're right -- it is ACT 6.  I bought it personally years ago (about 5 years ago, I think) and I am at a new company and they have no CRM, at all.  So, I brought my old ACT from home and just installed it on my PC.  I think the operating system is WIndows 2000,but I'm not certain.  I came from a company using Vista and I can tell you, what I'm using now seems quite dated.  I think it's 2000, not sure.
