Can I transferr customer data from ACT 2000 to ACT 6.0?

I have two computers.  One is running XP Home with ACT 2000 on it.  For some reason the ACT program won't start.  It begins to come up and then quites loading.  I have a second computer running Vista with ACT 6.0.  The 6.0 is completely new with no existing contacts or personal data etc on it.  Is there a way to copy files from ACT 2000 that have all my contact data etc and put them into ACT 6.0 so I can access the contacts?

Yes but you most likely have a corrupted database and changing to ACT! 6 won't help. The database needs to be fixed.

I thought it would at least start even if the database is corrupt.  I must be wrong.  How does one repair a corrupt database?

Because ACT! typically opens the last database opened at start up, you can't tell which might be the problem. You can use ACTDIAG to reset the last database registry key and then see if the ACT! program will open. If so then the problem is definitely the database.
