Archiving History

Is there a way to archive old notes and history in ACT 6.0 rather than deleting them? Can they be stored somewhere in ACT itself or possibly in an Excel spreadsheet?

Re: Archiving History

Create a new database, export the contacts to it, then delete the old histories from the main database.

But it's usually not necessary as old notes/history don't really cause that much drain on an ACT! 6.0 database.

Re: Archiving History

Mike I have to disagree on the impact of histories on the ACT! 6 database. Whenever you open the history tab or have it open when you switch contact, all the note and history entries for the contact must be resolved out of all the note and history records. even without invalid attachment paths I've seen this take several second on a fast machine. If the history includes invalid attachment paths that time can extend to several minutes.
