I have several users running several different databases in Act! 6. Each database covers a different geographical region and whilst some users might cover more than one geographical region some users do not and some users only cover certain areas whilst others cover all areas.
It has been suggested by the powers that be that we combine the seperate databases into one single database however I know the users like to be able to just view the group of contacts that they are working on at that time.
Is there a way of grouping contacts in Act! 6 that will allow the users to continue to work the way they currently work but on a single database? Are there features in Act! 2009 that will do this better than Act! 6?
Thanks
David

Part of your question would depend on if you are currently synchronising or not back to a master database. If not before you combine all of these you would need to make sure that they are the same field structure otherwise you are going to have some other issues to deal with.
yes you could create some groups and the users would then need to select the group but there are many actions that will throw them back into the master database.
You could upgrade and synchronise only the records for each user and this was they would only see what they need and then synchronise back into a master database
Good Luck
