Act 6.0 trouble installing - Install freezes and says CD Browser is not responding

I'm trying to install Act 6.0 on my new laptop.  It keeps locking up and when I ctrl-alt-dlt, it says the CD Browser is not responding.  Any clue what may be causing this???

What operating system on the laptop? Vista? If so, you need to plan on upgrading.

I'm sorry, I meant to say that my laptop is running XP.

Do you have Norton antivirus installed on the computer?

I am running McAfee but I disabled it before I tried to install.
